The change we've made together

We facilitated the establishment of two youth clubs at GVH Sawali and Mitawa, creating spaces where girls and boys share ideas and find solutions to everyday challenges. A drama group is based at our office, bringing communities together to learn and advocate.

At Majikuta GVH, Tiwasunge established a girls' club and shared knowledge on avoiding early pregnancy, encouraging girls to stay and succeed in school.

VSL members across 4 groups

We established 4 CBCC Village Savings & Loans (VSL) groups and trained members in VSL and leadership skills. Members run group businesses (groceries, baking mandasi, fish selling and vegetables), growing together and sharing profits to support their families and education.

Since 2006, TICOSO has carried out awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support, and distributed condoms and lubricants to youth throughout the catchment area.

Through CBCCs we established communal gardens and advocated for planting vegetables and nutritious food crops across the catchment, in collaboration with the District Agricultural Office.

OVCs supported

Tiwasunge distributed dresses to needy orphans and vulnerable children in GVH Sawali and Mitawa.

Supported by Young Women's Rise

We held awareness meetings and distributed sanitary items (buckets, cups and masks) to CBCCs and community members to help reduce transmission during gatherings.

VDC members trained

Through a Tilitonse Foundation funded project, Tiwasunge trained 16 Village Development Committee members in GVH Mitawa and Likoswe in monitoring & evaluation, project management and assessment.
